E-Learning Day 8/24/2023

We will be implementing an e-Learning day for Thursday, August 24, 2023 due to some unexpected Air Conditioning Units failing. Students will remain home tomorrow and either work remotely, or work on the assignments that were sent home with them today, or in the alternative, make up the work at a later date. Stay cool and we look forward to seeing you on Friday.

Principal's Message

Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year at Home Elementary School, home of the Titans!  My name is LaTasha Bailey and I am grateful and excited to serve as the Principal of Home Elementary School.  I was previously the Assistant Principal at George Washington Middle School. Prior to that, I spent 15 years as a 4th-grade teacher/team leader in South Holland, IL.   As an educator, I’ve always found value in building relationships with students and families because through those positive relationships, we can best collaborate to meet the needs of our students. My goal here is to make sure that our students achieve academic success and experience social-emotional wellness.

My husband and I are empty nesters. Our 3 amazing children, 25, 23, and 22 are all successful in their respective careers. Nonetheless, our English Bulldog, Mocha Jack, keeps us busy. Having raised three children, I fully understand the importance of the home-school connection and strive to ensure that our families and staff feel heard, respected, and supported.

At Home Elementary School, our curriculum resources include Wonders (English Language Arts), Origo Mathematics, Impact Social Studies, and Elevate Science.  Our curriculum is aligned with the Common Core Standards and Next Generation Science Standards.  Our students also enjoy Physical Education, Art, Music, and Library Media. We are grateful for your support and look forward to you partnering with us in the following ways: sign up for Class Dojo, attend Parent-Teacher Conferences, join the PTO, and attend PTO-sponsored events and activities  Additionally, feel free to reach out to me via phone at (708) 783-4500 or email at [email protected] with any questions, ideas, or suggestions.!

Let’s partner to make this an amazing year.  There’s no place like Home!

Respectfully,
LaTasha Bailey
